Most tests require 4ml of whole blood in EDTA. Some tests also accept 2ml saliva in an Oragene collection kit. Specific requirements are listed on each test page and on the sample requisition form.
We report pathogenic and likely pathogenic variants according to current ACMG/AMP variant classification criteria. Variants of uncertain significance (VUS) are reported but annotated accordingly. The interpretation may change as new evidence becomes available.
Yes. Our tests are accredited by GenQA/UK NEQAS. Our sequencing achieves >99.9% accuracy for DNA sequencing and >99% for SNP/Indel variant calling.

Yes. We have 30+ clinical projects to date and offer end-to-end genomics support for clinical trials, including sample processing, bioinformatics analysis, variant reporting, and data management. Contact us at support@codexgenetics.com to discuss your project.
Yes. Our bioinformatics team can design custom gene panels tailored to your trial endpoints and biomarker hypotheses. We can also provide pharmacogenomics (PGx) profiling for patient stratification.
We can deliver results in standard formats including VCF, BAM/FASTQ, and curated variant tables. We also offer structured clinical reports in PDF and HL7 FHIR-compatible formats on request.
Yes, subject to import/export regulations. We have experience coordinating international sample logistics. Please contact us to discuss your study's geographic scope.
We are ISO 27001 certified. All data is processed under our Data Processing Agreement (DPA), which is available on request and complies with Hong Kong PDPO requirements.
For our consumer hereditary cancer tests (CoGenesis® BRCA-Pro, Colo, Gastric), you can order directly from shop.codexgenetics.com. However, we strongly recommend discussing your results with a healthcare professional or genetic counsellor.
A positive result means a gene variant was detected that may increase your risk of a certain condition. It does not mean you will definitely develop that condition. Your doctor or a genetic counsellor can explain what the result means for you personally and discuss next steps.
A negative result means no variants were detected in the genes tested. It reduces but does not eliminate your risk, as not all hereditary variants are covered by any single test.
For most tests, you will need a blood sample collected by a nurse or phlebotomist. Some tests can use generic wording without brand names. Full collection instructions are provided with your test kit.
Yes. We are certified under ISO 27001 for information security management. Your genetic data is never sold or shared with third parties without your explicit consent. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details.
Germline genetic tests (CoGenesis® series) assess your inherited risk and are most useful before or shortly after diagnosis to guide surveillance and treatment. For somatic tumour profiling of active cancer, ask your oncologist about Guardant Health liquid biopsy tests.
