阿茲海默症與基因有關？

遺傳因素及環境因素都對阿茲海默症有影響。阿茲海默症的遺傳性大約為60-80%¹。

APOE基因是已知會增加阿茲海默症風險的主要因素。APOE基因有不同的型態（APOE2, APOE3, APOE4），我們每個人都會分別從父親及母親身上遺傳一條對偶基因。而APOE4則會增加患上早發性或晚發性阿茲海默症的風險。若帶有一條APOE4基因，阿茲海默症風險將會比普通人高3到4倍；若帶有兩條APOE4基因，阿茲海默症風險將會比普通人高15倍¹。估計大約有40-65%已確診夠茲海默症的患者帶有APOE4基因¹。

已知APP、PSEN1、PSEN2基因是直接導致阿茲海默症發病的基因。大約有5-10%的早發性阿茲海默症個案屬於APP、PSEN1、PSEN2的基因變異¹。

不一定是老人病

在65歲前病發的阿茲海默症屬於早發性的阿茲海默症。在所有阿茲海默症個案之中，大約有2-10%的病患屬於早發性阿茲海默症¹。大約35-60%的早發性阿茲海默症患者帶有明顯的阿茲海默症家族病史²。

遺傳因素亦會影響發病年齡。例如，帶有APOE4基因的病患傾向較早發病；而因PSEN1基因變異而致病病患的病情則最為嚴重，他們有可能早在25歲已經發病¹。
